Why Sponsor
WBA events provide opportunities to promote your organization and foster relationships with our members, who work in law firms of all sizes, as in-house attorneys with public and private companies, at various levels of local, state and federal government, and in various positions (legal and non-legal) in the non-profit sector.
Additionally, sponsorship of WBA events supports the WBA in providing excellent career development, legal programming, and networking opportunities for our members and the community at large.
Sponsorship is the lifeblood of the WBA. In further support of our mission to advance the interest of women lawyers and encourage a spirit of friendship and mutual support in our legal community (among men and women alike), the WBA has long resisted high-cost membership fees. Your sponsorship of the WBA helps keep membership and program costs accessible for our diverse legal community.
We make it even easier to participate by offering several sponsorship packages, so you can consider your sponsorship investment on an annual basis.
The WBA’s sponsorship packages bring you more visibility and value than ever, combining sponsorship, advertising, membership, and exclusive benefits to maximize your engagement with the WBA membership of attorneys practicing law and working in law-related careers in the greater Washington, DC area.

Stars of the Bar
Stars of the Bar is a fall networking reception that kicks off the WBA’s program year. At this event, the WBA honors members of the DC legal community, designated as its Stars. This event typically is attended by more than 300 women and men, including firm, nonprofit, and government attorneys, judges, law students, and leaders in the DC legal community. Stars of the Bar offers a professional and friendly environment to network with attorneys, including WBA members and WBA and WBA Foundation leadership, and find out more about our programs and services.
Attendees also have an opportunity to meet the WBA’s committee and forum co-chairs, who plan numerous substantive programs throughout the bar year addressing the professional and practical needs of our membership and of the greater DC legal community. Representatives from the Women’s Bar Association & WBA Foundation leadership are in attendance for networking, to answer questions, alert attendees to upcoming events, and help members get more involved in the WBA and the WBA Foundation.
This event is free to attend and open to the public.
Holiday Tea
The WBA’s Holiday Tea, organized each year by the Communications Law Forum, is a highlight of the bar year. This long-standing, elegant event brings together luminaries of the communications law field for networking and mentoring with WBA members and friends. Over the years, the Holiday Tea has become a “must attend” event for all of our members and regularly sells out.
The Holiday Tea is held at one of DC’s premier hotels, featuring delicious treats and choice of teas. This afternoon high tea is always a festive event. It is the perfect way to spend time with WBA members and friends while they celebrate the holiday season!
Mussey-Gillett Founders Sponsorship
The WBA is excited to offer a sponsorship opportunity for individuals.
Named after our founders, Ellen Spencer Mussey and Emma M. Gillett, this new sponsorship level provides dedicated individual members the opportunity to support the success and financial sustainability of the WBA. For those individuals who already give so much to the WBA, the Founders Sponsorship provides a targeted giving opportunity, and a mechanism for the WBA to recognize its high-contributing individuals.
