The health and welfare of our members and the community is of the utmost importance to us. We enjoy gathering with our WBA sisters and friends, but in light of the current situation, the Women’s Bar Association has decided to postpone or change the format of our events in the coming weeks:

  • The Women’s History Month Trivia Night event scheduled for tonight (March 10) will be rescheduled for July 15. This will provide us an opportunity to invite summer associates to the event and welcome them to the WBA with a fun night of trivia and networking. Please plan now to join us.
  • We are working on changing the format of the March 18 Elder Care program to a webinar session, and will continue to take registrations for that event.

Our committee and leadership meetings will be held virtually.

We are monitoring the information being disseminated by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO) as well as national and local government authorities. If at any point these organizations advise that additional action needs to be taken, we will be following their lead and guidance.

Although many organizations are instituting meeting and travel restrictions, we are by no means isolated. Keep in touch with WBA and your fellow members on social media. We have two forums for conversation and action among highly-educated, thoughtful women:

Members-Only Facebook Forum (https://www.facebook.com/groups/WBADCMemberForum/)

Open LinkedIn Group (https://www.linkedin.com/groups/2157663/).

This is uncharted territory for most of us.  We want to be a resource for coming together to talk about you are handling your work and family commitments during this time of crisis. Share information and advice about how different places of business and federal offices and courts, etc. are handling the situation.

We appreciate your support of the Women’s Bar Association and your flexibility and understanding as we address this issue as best we can.  When it is advisable to gather again, we will look forward to seeing you at more WBA events.
