Did the first few months of 2025 fly by? Did you feel a bit out of sync with your goals? You weren’t alone!

The WBA recently hosted “Goal-Setting 2025: Reflect, Reset, and Plan for Q2” as part of the “Rooted in Well-Being Series,” sponsored by the WBA Well-Being and Advocacy Committees, to help women lawyers refocus and reignite their passion for the year.

Reflect, Reset, and Reignite: Key Takeaways from Goal-Setting 2025

The session was packed with actionable strategies to help you clarify your goals and make your vision for 2025 a reality.

  • The Power of Reflection: Before diving into new goals, always review the previous period (year, quarter, or month). Understanding what worked and what didn’t provides valuable insight for future planning.
  • The List of 100 (or 25!): Brain dump everything you want to accomplish, from the smallest to the biggest. Create a comprehensive list and refer back to it regularly. Even though we’re nearing the end of Q2, it’s not too late to create your list for 2025!
  • Break Down Big Goals: Overwhelmed by a large, emotionally charged goal? Break it down into smaller, manageable steps. Even tasks that take just 2-3 minutes can create momentum.
  • Prioritize Self-Care: Remember, your well-being is paramount! Incorporate self-care into your planning. If you’re not okay, it’s difficult to achieve your goals effectively.
  • Join the 1%: It’s said that only 1% of people write down their goals and review them regularly. Research by Dr. David Kohl demonstrates that those in this 1% group are among the highest achievers in the US.
  • Manifestation Mindset: Conceive of your dream as a reality. The more you believe it’s possible, the more likely you are to achieve it. See yourself already in the role or achieving the goal you desire!
