Why did you join the Women’s Bar Association?
I joined the WBA because I am passionate about issues facing women in all workplaces and I was looking for fellowship with other professional women.
What benefits do you get from being a part of the WBA and why do you think others should join?
The fellowship and connections I have created have helped me professionally and personally. My WBA sisters are some of my oldest adult friends.
How has being a parent enhanced your career?
Becoming a mom has crystalized my priorities and helped me develop a healthier relationship with work. I love working and being a lawyer AND I love being a mom. I put everything into my work when I am on the clock and I am very intentional about disconnecting with I am off the clock. That helps me feel re-energized when I go back to work or go back home.
What words of advice do you have for women new to the profession?
Do not under sell yourself or think you need to be a certain way to be successful. Embrace what makes you unique and put the work in to master your craft.
What is the best advice you have received?
Lo que esta para ti nadie te lo quita – What is meant for you no one can take away.
