The presentation will provide an overview on Fraud Risk in the New Economy. The brown bag luncheon presented by the WBA Tax and Business Forum will look at the anti-fraud climate today, following the recent frauds of 2008 & 2009, and changes in our economic environment. The focal points of this presentation will be to increase your sensitivity to fraud risk from a practical perspective, and explore some of the challenges your clients are faced with today, including financial statement fraud, misappropriations and tax fraud.
Cheryl B. Hyder, MT CPA CFE CVA CFF is the principal at Hyder Consulting Group, located in Alexandria VA. Her practice is focused on providing litigation support services, primarily conducting financial investigations and performing business valuations. Ms. Hyder co-chairs the Northern VA Society of CPAs' Business Valuation and Litigation Support Services Committee and is Vice President of the Metro-DC Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
